ONOS Cluster - Setup & Experimentation
March 2, 2018
This slide covers setting-up a two-node ONOS cluster, mainly for quick-try and demo purposes. While it is enough for some experimentations, this two-node arrangement is not something technically right (from technical perspectives - see comments by jordan / andrea in the thread pointed at slide 7). Thus, tests with node failures are not addressed and saved for the next hardware upgrade.
OpenStack Pike - Introduction via DevStack
February 18, 2018
DevStack is a set of scripts and utilities to quickly deploy an OpenStack cloud from git source trees. While it is useful for development, OpenStack users and learners can also use DevStack to try and make small cloud experiments. This slide covers DevStack installation procedure and basic OpenStack operations via the Horizon dashboard and via the OpenStack Client.
Basic ONOS Tutorial
February 17, 2018
This slide is based on the official Basic ONOS Tutorial, which is recently updated to the most recent version (1.12.0 Magpie - as of writing). The tutorial introduces the main concept and many aspects offered by ONOS, including controller instance clustering and basic operations via Web UI and CLI (Command Line Interface).
ONOS - Introduction
February 12, 2018
ONOS provides the control plane for a software-defined network (SDN), managing network components, such as switches and links, and running software programs or modules to provide communication services to end hosts and neighboring networks. ONOS applications and use cases often consist of customized communication routing, management, or monitoring services for software-defined networks.
PiOVS: Raspberry Pi Open vSwitch
February 8, 2018
Learning introductory SDN concept with Mininet is mostly enough. But sometimes it is nice to have a mobile, small-scale SDN lab for showcase and live demo sessions in the class. Below you'll find a short guide to 'convert' a raspberry pi (RPI2) to a 4-port OpenFlow Open vSwitch. For this purpose, you'll need 4x USB-to-RJ45 adapter.
Developing ODL Apps - Getting Started
February 6, 2018
If you're new to OpenDaylight environment and try to follow the getting started guide at the official documentation page, you'll spend hours. In the worst case, it might take your entire weekend. :-) This short tutorial is a 'working' version of the official development getting started guide. Note that versions do matter. I've spent hours trying to get everything work for Nitrogen before I read this thread. It's still broken for Nitrogen. This guide is based on OpenDaylight Carbon.
